Bankruptcy Court

This is a court in which a judge or registrar will decide on the bankrupt's application for bankruptcy discharge and other insolvency matters.

In Ontario, The Superior Court of Justice is the court that handles all bankruptcy and consumer proposal matters. There are 5 Judicial Officers, called Registrars in Bankruptcy, who oversee matters in Bankruptcy Court in Ontario.

There are three courts that hear bankruptcy related items in Ontario: Toronto, Ottawa and London. Windsor and Kitchener sessions are heard by the London registrar who makes appearances in Kitchener or Windsor on alternating months.
