Bankruptcy Opposition

If you do not complete your duties, the trustee is required to “oppose” your discharge from bankruptcy. A creditor also has the power to oppose your discharge (information for creditors can be found on our information for creditors page), as does the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy.

If your discharge is opposed, a discharge hearing is held in bankruptcy court, and the court will decide on the terms of your discharge.
