I was in a debate proposal and I was still getting letters from still. I was paying them for two years for work that wasn’t be done please don’t go with this company. Unless you want to waste your money.

At such a difficult life transition, Hoyes Michalos and Associates helped to give me a fresh start. The level of stress I was dealing with has been alleviated tremendously and one year in to the proposal I can see the benefits of the program and am so happy for their guidance.

I first made contact two years ago with the Burlington office by email. After reading all the pro's and cons I decided to continue my own debt management course. As a senior, pride is a very hard thing to deal with...I was embarrassed and very secretive about my situation.
In Nov. 2018 I arranged an appointment with Billy and was surprised I wasn't made to feel Sub Human lol.
Billy was very helpful and professional each time we met.
This program has given me the opportunity I needed to maintain my livelihood and pay off remaining debts.
I also enjoy the informative News Letter and the user friendly apps like Gas Buddy.

From the Queen of procrastination, It’s actually not as bad as you think! Shannon Desaulniers was my Trustee at the Hoyes Bank Street location, and was fabulous to deal with, helpful every step of the way, without judgement or pressure. The credit counselling gave me a better understanding of my finances and budgeting, plus great tips on how to rebuild my credit. Get on with it, so you can finally get on with it!
Thanks again Shannon, it’s certainly a very big load off, and now I can answer my phone again!

I have no idea how all of the previous reviews gave such positive affirmations. They do not help with debt relief or debt counselling. They offer cookie cutter solutions and follow a template for every single person. My account should have been handled better and differently, but they just want you to sign so that they get paid. Have a look at form 47 that you signed with them, look at how much they get paid to give you absolutely no help. The famous line, I promise your stress level out of 10 will drop once you let us help you, I expressed in then end of my first meeting and again in my second meeting that my stress level did not go down, again no help with this. When people are facing financial hardship no matter what the reason or how they got there, we don't want to hear your advice from your father 40 years ago, irrelevant and a waste of time. How about you do some retraining on how to REALLY help people in these situations. After expressing my concerns with the service they offer a different credit counselor, wow thanks for going all out. If you are considering filing a consumer proposal be for-warned it appears as a bankruptcy on your credit file, Hoyes will tell you that it is because Credit Karma is American and they do not recognize consumer proposals. Every Canadian CC and every Credit Check I have ever had (rental property, Canadian bank loans, cable provider, cell phone provider and hydro/gas/water ) has gone through Credit Karma so beware of the B/S excuse you will be given. Extremely disappointed is an understatement, wish I could give no stars.

I was in a devastating financial crisis I felt I was never going to get out of... I shopped around for other similar practices that offered consumer proposals, but then had a friend tip me off about Hoyes Michalos... not only did the save me more money than the other places-they delivered as promised and completely saved me! Thank you Scott, I am so grateful!!!! And yes- I’m a real person and I did 100% use this service- best decision ever!!!

About 2.5 years ago, I visited them. They said I will never be able to pay off my debts unless to file bankruptcy, but now I’m debt free and leasing a car. Glad that I didn’t take their advice as well as other debt relief institutions because they only want you to file bankruptcy. How I did it? Read books and have self-discipline.

Excellent service from Joel and the team. Made me feel respected and everything was handled most professionally and thoroughly explained in a way I could understand. Highly recommended team.

Decided to continue with a consumer proposal, filed March 31.
All correspondence, viewing/signing documents etc was via online/phone which was great, as I reside north of Brampton.
Very convenient.
The Brampton office called a creditor on my behalf when I was unable to provide the details needed to please the creditor at the time of their call.
A service I greatly appreciated.
I anticipated a longer time frame with the COVID 19 shut down, however I have completed my 1st debt counselling session with Jason.
He has provided me with beneficial strategies moving forward.
Most of which are common sense, budgeting etc, however I obviously required a reminder OR I wouldn't have had to call Hoyes in the first place.
I received correspondence today that my consumer proposal was accepted by my creditors. Woohoo!
A large weight has been lifted.
Especially at this unknown time.
