THERE IS AN OPTION AND THERE IS HELP. It's called Hoyes Michalos. I did not even know they existed, heck - I didn't even know what they did! Out of all the places I contacted for urgent help, (and there were lots - even some that wanted upfront funds for their services), Hoyes were the only ones that SPOKE to me empathetically, and gave me the information I needed to proceed. They are greatly supportive and knowledgeable with what's required based on your profile. Even if you're unsure with what you need to do, they will help you in figuring it out. So I had a good and bad experience with them. Some of the team are friendly, and some aren't so friendly. My whole bankruptcy went fine until it came for tax time. Come tax time the person who does the taxes ended up changing my marital status causing me to owe the government money that I don't actually owe them. It is now 4 months later and the government is still giving me issues with this. They are good to use, but when it comes time for taxes make sure they know if you are single or common law 1000 times before they do your taxes. Otherwise u will end up owing a stupid amount of money that you don't actually owe.

My dealings with Benny and Janette where very professional and put me at ease going through the Consumer Proposal process. It was a tough decision to make, but they have great customer service skills and were very kind and made me feel at ease. I highly recommend them if you are in position I was.
