2013 was a big yer for me, it was when I was 19, got approved for my first credit card, cell phone, and some loans. However at that age, the goal was to spend spend and spend. I soon learned after a few years,, that it became debt, and debt leads to stress of creditors harassing you.

I began my journey with Hoyes, Michalos & Associates in late 2018 to early 2019. it started with filling out a small questioner that popped up on my facebook at the time, regarding personal debt. after filling out the questioner, few days later had an appointment set, with Nicholas who was a trustee at Hoyes Michalos.

we sat down and discussed my debt, discussed my options based on my budget, and ultimately came up with some solutions. there friendly reminders of your appointment, to excellent help from there team. I can say now that I am debt free, and now can start moving forward in my life towards a better finial future.

Very professional Service. Brett, who I have never met face to face except video conference, took care of everything smoothly. He was always there to answer questions either by phone or by email. He laid out the best options for me which I am really satisfied with. Other staffs were always warm toned and eager to help whenever I had called their office. Legitimate and well reputed business. Great experience working with Joel and team. Joel was extremely knowledgeable, quick to act, and informative. I was hesitant about exploring my financial options and I am glad that I found this team. When my wife and I found ourselves in a very difficult position, Mark was able to outline our best options and get us on track to recovery. Our consumer proposal was executed quickly and successfully and our dignity was kept intact throughout the process. It's incredible how much stress was taken from our lives by making the simple decision to set up an appointment here. Once again, can't say enough about Mark!

So I had a good and bad experience with them. Some of the team are friendly, and some aren't so friendly. My whole bankruptcy went fine until it came for tax time. Come tax time the person who does the taxes ended up changing my marital status causing me to owe the government money that I don't actually owe them. It is now 4 months later and the government is still giving me issues with this. They are good to use, but when it comes time for taxes make sure they know if you are single or common law 1000 times before they do your taxes. Otherwise u will end up owing a stupid amount of money that you don't actually owe.

Can't recommend Brian enough for helping me with my situation. He was very approachable, understanding and had no issue or any judgements. He transparently explained the whole process and my options in a simple manner that made the whole process more comfortable. Even after the process was put in motion he's was always responsive and helpful with any questions I had.

I had a consultation with another debt relief agency about filing for a consumer proposal and they asked me for 400.00 upfront which made me suspicious about them. I'm very intuitive and didn't have a good feeling about them so I called Hoyes, Michalos and Associates and as soon as I talked to Sandra Sykora and heard how knowledgeable, experienced, kind and understanding she was I knew I would use them to file my consumer proposal. They all are licensed insolvency trustees. She never asked me for any money and she also never heard of this other debt relief agency so the public needs to be aware of this. She has helped me tremendously through a difficult time in my life always making me feel at total ease and comfortable. I would highly recommend this company and especially Sandra Sykora.
