First of all I was having 30% garnished wages off of each pay cheque. I was losing money ! I decided after doing research to do a consumer proposal and it started June 2019 . I am glad to say I finished January 5, 2022. I paid it off in half the time . My credit took a huge hit . Once I was in my consumer proposal I paid $75 bi-weekly and it was so much more manageable . So thankful for this opportunity and I didn’t have to declare bankruptcy. I got approved for 2 credit cards , 2 loans while in a consumer proposal. You have 5 years to complete your consumer proposal. I suggest paying it off sooner. It stays on your credit report for 3 years . The key takeaways from my experience. Making your payments on time , don’t use more than 30% of your credit , if you don’t have the money don’t buy it , save your money . Thank you Hoyes for helping my financial future . If you’re hesitant I say go for it as it helped me and the payments are very low in comparison to consolidation and bankruptcy.
